LITTLE RED COAT

I purchased this coat from HOBBS winter's collection last year because I really liked the design and colour. I felt rather daring that day choosing a red coat over black. But to be honest with you, I've only worn this coat three times. It's a great piece to have in the wardrobe, something to brighten up those dull/rainy days, but on freezing cold days I'd have to layer up a lot to stay warm. So, it's not really one of my favourite purchases (sadly).
These photos were taken earlier this year in February. I know I haven't been as good at keeping my blog updated, but hey, I have my personal life and other responsibilities to take care of away from my blog too. Anyway, I put this outfit together really quickly, as I wanted to experiment a bit with this coat. I simply worn a denim dress, a pair of pastel pink socks, white trainers and grabbed a backpack to finish off my casual/lazy look. As soon as I put on this red coat, the outfit looked a bit more interesting. I just wanted to prove to myself that this coat can be worn casually as well, and I don't actually need to wait for a special occasion to wear it.

WEARING DARK GREEN

All I can say right now is everything's starting to come together nicely. I've finally settled into my new flat in London, and also my new job - I'm enjoying it a lot so far! It took a few months for me to get used to all the changes though, but I'm feeling happy and positive that this is just the beginning of all the exciting things that's about to happen!
Anyway, here I am with a quick outfit post. I wasn't planning to shoot this outfit but then I thought why not? It's a rather simple outfit, but it's definitely an outfit I'd wear on my casual/relaxed days. I got this dark green shirt from & other stories (that's one of my favourite stores!), washed it once and now it's ruined as the sleeves are falling apart! I got to be honest here but it's definitely heartbreaking as it's not at all worth the price that I paid for. Another thing is I really like this colour, it's something different and I think this shirt had a great potential when it comes to styling. I would of loved to wear it tucked into a white culottes similar to this one from Elizabeth and James or a nude one from 3.1 Phillip Lim with a pair of orange block heels for a chic contrasted look. The backpack was a bargain from Primark, I bought it because I needed something that I could just throw everything into for my lazy day out and not having to worry about organising my bag. I think my trousers and backpack has helped and toned down the dark green shirt though, otherwise wearing it with darker shades from head to toe would of made this outfit look too harsh.
